They assisted the Easter Bunny in getting ready for the Egg hunt on Sunday morning, and as usual there was no shortage of chocolate in our house. A funny story when Ashley found the following bucket of goodies (from one of the ladies at the Corps) ...she pulled out all the things and when she got a toy (from McDonalds nonetheless) she says in her loud voice "Heh! How come the Easter bunny went to McDonalds????" LOL LOL. Ken quickly told her that he was thirsty and needed a drink before he came to our house. Ha.
On a more serious note, people think that Easter is hard to understand for little kids at times. But you know, they are listening to what you teach them. I hadn't really gotten into the whole reason of Easter with Ashley because she came to me about it first. She said "Mommy, Easter is not only about the Easter Bunny". I said that's right Ashley. What else is it about?....And she told me....Jesus died on the cross for our sins Mommy! Then she says "What are sins?".....
I gave her a response appropriate for her age but again it was a lesson for me that really these first years of a child's life are the most impressionable years. So any opportunity we have to plant seeds of God in their little hearts will carry them through life. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it".
It really gets you thinking about the Spiritual Seeds you sow each day in your life. Something to reflect on....after all it is Spring!!! Get sowing.
Until the next time....good night all.
